Lena Platonos – Gallop Re-issue

Λένα Πλάτωνος (Lena Platonos) is a Greek musician, pianist and music composer. One of the pioneers in the Greek electronic music scene of the 1980s, she remains active today. Lena was born on the island of Crete and grew up in Athens. She began learning how to play the piano at the age of two and became a professional pianist before turning eighteen. Soon afterwards, she received a scholarship to study in Vienna and Berlin, where she was exposed to jazz, rock and Middle Eastern music. She returned to Greece in the late 70’s and began working with the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation. She released 3 collaborative albums between 1981-1983 and her debut solo album in 1984. ‘Γκάλοπ’ (‘Gallop’) was Lena Platonos’ second record that she solely composed, produced and sang. Agis Giannoulis, a Greek Audio Visual artist who explores new territories.

LINK Agis Giannoulis is a media artist based in Paris. ‘A.G:VIDEOS:2003-2013’ (website / dvd) consists of eleven video works produced by A.G from 2003 to 2013 in London, Athens and Paris. Precedently he has released three studio albums in the vein of contemporary, minimal and neo-classcal music, under the names of ANIKA and A.G. His artistic research interests are directed mainly into contemporary music and electronic arts. He has studied Graphic Arts, Music Technology and Digital Arts in United Kingdom. Αt present, he examines the experience of the receiver (audience) in the new situation of interactive arts in the digital era. He has collaborated with Free103Point9 Transmission Arts organization by participating in Noise!2009 Festival (Ontological Hysteric Theater) in New York, and moreover he has participated in various collective exhibitions where he presented musical and video art works.
