Acropolis bye bye is
nostalgically resembling 70's psychedelic rock music and even surf, yet
applying traditional oriental music patterns. A merely conceptual
album, where the greek-echoing sounds and the french, greek and english
texts interact interchangeably in an feast of melodies.
Ian BALZAN DORIZAS: Born in Paris in 1979, Acropolis Bye Bye is his first solo record production.
The project 's background is to be found both in Ian BALZAN DORIZAS interest for greek traditional music and electric rock influences.
Travelling
around for a long time, learning about rebetiko music and then
playing it for almost ten years, mainly in France, he then felt like
adding a personal touch, and his proper influences to this music.
Greek revival music
results out of a need to get personnaly involved in a music that
belongs to a specific place and time, so as to take it out of its
borders. The idea is to take a well known story, and tell it another
way, on own words and background. The result is a very personal
approach, a mix of styles and languages .
You
will probably listen something you know, either french, greek,
english, arabic, world music, rock and even jazz rock, or simply a pop
song, it could sound like a soundtrack too.
